Homeschool - Making a Volcano the frugal way

Frugally Friendly Homeschool Volcano Project

As some of you may or may not know, my brother in law, Zach is staying with us while his family makes the transition of moving from Ga to Tn. This is giving me the chance to homeschool Zach and I am loving it. To top off our Volcano Unit I decided it would be fun to make a volcano as the end of unit project. Being that I do everything on a budget/frugally I wanted to find something that is affordable to do with preferably all the materials on hand. Below is the how-to with photos.

Ingredients:

Flour
Salt
Cooking Oil
Vinegar
Baking Soda
Liquid Detergent
Water
Food Coloring
Plastic Bottle
Baking Pan or Large Flat Cardboard
Large Bowl
Medicine Dropper

In a large bowl mix 2 cups of sat, 6 cups of flour, 4-tablespoons of oil and 2 cups of water.

Mix ingredients together. If needed, add water.

Place bottle in the middle of pan or cardboard and place your mixture around the bottle working upwards.

Keep the lid on so the mixture doesn't get in the bottle, but don't cover the lid.

Remove lid and add a few drops of food coloring (Zach added 4 drops of red and it turned out pink)
Add 6 drops of laundry detergent. (We used a medicine dropper to measure)

Add 2 tablespoons of Baking Soda

SLOWLY Pour Vinegar into your bottle

Coppertone Clearly Sheer

I just received my Coppertone Clearly Sheer Bzzkit and I am so excited. Living in Savannah the weather is hot and I am always in need of sunscreen. I love how it absorbs in seconds for a clean and light feel. The moisturizing formulas help leaves my skin soft and smooth plus it doesn't clog pores or cause breakouts! I have added this to my daily makeup routine and I put it on before my foundation. The matte finish is perfect for under my makeup!

I am a BzzAgent and I received free product and coupons from them.
