DIY Mixes

DYI Brown Gravy

(To make a large amount for storage)
2 cups flour
1/4 cup beef bouillon granules
1/4 cup onion powder
1/4 cup garlic powder
2 tsp black pepper
1T dried parsley

To Prepare:
Mix the dry gravy mix with 1 cup of cold water in a saucepan. Whisk until smooth. Heat at medium until the sauce thickens, then add another cup of water and whisk once more until smooth. Then.. nothing! You're done! Serve over potatoes, rice, or whatever floats your boat.




Dry Onion Soup Mix



Ingredients
80 teaspoons beef bouillon granules
160 teaspoons dried onion flakes
20 teaspoons onion powder
5 teaspoons seasoned pepper


Directions

    Label with date and contents.
    Store in a cool, dry place.
    Use within 6 months.



Italian Dressing Mix


Dry mix
1 tbls. garlic salt
1 tbls. onion powder
1 tbls. sugar
2 tbls. oregano
1 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. basil
1 tbls. parsley
1/4 tsp. celery salt
2 tbls. Salt


Dressing
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2/3 cup olive oil
2 tbls. water
2 tbls. dry mix



DIY Homemade Taco Seasoning

(makes about 3 Tablespoons)
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:
Mix together all ingredients. Store in an airtight container until ready to use.

When you are ready to use use your Homemade Taco Seasoning, use about 2 tablespoons per 1 pound of meat. Feel free to add more or use less, I just found that to be the sweet spot


Brown your beef and drain off fat. Sprinkle seasoning evenly over meat and add 1/3 cup of water. Simmer until water is adsorbed.
